MAKERSPACE
All users must have a library card in good standing to use any Makerspace equipment.
VHS TO DVD CONVERTER
Purpose:
Convert your old VHS tapes to DVD.
Cost:
- There is no charge to use the equipment.
- This unit records to DVD-R and DVD-RW discs only. You may bring your own discs, or the library can provide you with a DVD-R and a paper sleeve for 50 cents.
Guidelines:
- The Library is not responsible for damaged VHS tapes.
- We recommend that you remove the write-protection tab from your tapes to avoid accidental erasure.
- Copyrighted materials cannot be copied.
- Please allow enough time for the complete conversion process to finish. 1 hour of video will take 1 hour to convert. Allow an additional 5-10 minutes for the DVD to finalize.
- Please use the VHS rewinder to rewind your tapes.
- The remote control may be signed out at the Circulation Desk. An adapter for compact VHS-C cassettes is also available. Please return borrowed items when finished.

RECORD/CASSETTE TO CD CONVERTER
Purpose:
Convert your old records or cassettes to CD.
Cost:
- There is no charge to use the equipment.
- This unit records to CD-R and CD-RW discs only. You may bring your own discs, or the library can provide you with a CD-R and a paper sleeve for 50 cents.
Guidelines:
- The Library is not responsible for damaged records or cassettes.
- Please allow enough time for the complete conversion process to finish. 1 hour of audio will take 1 hour to convert.
- Please refer to the Record/Cassette Converter Manual for complete instructions.
BUTTON MAKER
Purpose:
Make your own pinback buttons!
Cost:
- Button sets are available for 50 cents each.
- Printouts of button designs: Color 25¢, Black/White 15¢ (per copy)
(Note: The template file allows for 6 buttons per page)
Guidelines:
- Button designs must be scaled to 2¼ inches in diameter. Please allow for a ¼ inch border.
- A pre-scaled button template is available for use on the Makerspace computer.
- The circular paper cutter may be used to cut out your designs.
CRICUT (crafting/cutting machine)
Purpose:
This crafting/cutting machines can be used to cut designs on regular paper,
vinyl, iron-on, cardstock, fabric, posterboard, and more!
Cost:
- There is no charge if you provide your own supplies
- Regular Paper: 10 cents each
- Cardstock Paper: 20 cents each
- Envelopes: 5 cents each
Guidelines:
- You must set up a free Cricut Design Space account before you begin.
- The Cricut cannot be reserved. It's available on a first come, first served basis.
- You may log into your account on the Makerspace computer to complete and cut your designs.
ELLISON DIE CUTTING MACHINE
Purpose:
Die cutting is a fast and easy way to cut the perfect shape every time.
Cost:
- There is no charge to use the equipment.
- Please supply your own paper.
Guidelines:
- See the list of Ellison dies that we currently own.
- If we do not have the Ellison cutting die that you need, you may order in more from the Online Catalog.
(NOTE: You may place dies on hold, but they cannot leave the building.)
3D PRINTER
Purpose:
Create physical objects from a three-dimensional digital model.
Cost:
- 20 cents / gram (rounded to the next highest gram) ($1.00 minimum) An estimate may be provided prior to printing. Final cost will be determined after the object is finished.
Guidelines:

The library may refuse any 3D print request,
such as objects considered obscene, illegal, or
dangerous. The library is not responsible for
illegal use or copyright infringements.

Please include a completed
3D Printing Request Form
when submitting the file to be printed.
Your file may be in either STL or 3MF format (no
gcode). One file submission at a time. Maximum
print size is: (350 x 350 x 350mm). 8 colors
maximum. Note: Multiple colors may
significantly increase print time.

If a print is unsuccessful, we will attempt only one
reprint. Our software may add supports if
needed. If you do not want supports, or want
other changes, such as layer height or infill, you
must specify this when submitting your file.
Note: Library staff will not remove support
material, and it will be included in the final cost.

Only library staff may operate the 3D printer.
Library staff will not modify your file. Your file
will be printed, subject to staff availability, and
you will be notified when it is ready. If your file is
not picked up within 7 days, the printing cost will
be added to your record as a library fine and your
item may be discarded.

3D objects are printed with PLA plastic.
(Standard PLA is not suitable for high
temperature applications). High-Temp PLA is
also available if requested).
